THE NBC UNIVERSITY THEATER

CONTENTS:

     From 07/30/48 until 02/14/51 over the NBC network, this series presented outstanding broadcasts of the best shorts ever written.  Authors like W. Somerset Maugham, Ernest Hemingway, E.M. Forster, Aldous Huxley, John Steinbeck and many others.  One problem was the word "university" in its title.  To get away from the educational stigma, the network drop it and change the title to just The NBC Theatre.  Some universities offered correspondence course for the series.  Many of radios top actors appeared in productions of this series.
