CONTENTS:

     One of the "Big Three" from WXYZ in Detroit, this series was locally heard from 01/31/36 until 04/07/38.  Mutual then picked up the series from 04/12/38 to 11/09/39.  The series finally moved to the Blue Network, later to be called ABC, and was heard from 11/16/39 until it left the air on 12/05/52 after 1041 broadcasts.  Playing Britt Reid was Al Hodge (1936 - 1943), Donovan Faust (1943), Bob Hall (1944 - 1951), and finally Jack McCarthy (1951 - 1952). Leonore Allman played Casey, secretary to Reid, and Jim Irwin as Michael Axford, reporter on The Daily Sentinel.  Among the announcers heard over the years was Mike Wallace of today's 60 Minutes fame.  Fran Striker, creator of The Lone Ranger, was the head writer of the series.  Theme music, "Flight Of The Bumblebee."
