THE ANDREWS SISTERS

CONTENTS:

The ABC network played host to The Andrews Sisters from 12/31/44 until the program left the air on 03/27/46.  Before the war, this sister act toured the Midwest and the South for six years before being "discovered" by Sammy Cahn.  A record deal with Decca Records finally lead to a CBS contract to appear on Dole Pineapple Show in 1939.  After two years with Glen Miller and about 700 hours on the radio, they had hit the big time.  Many top performers were featured on their program.
